This concert is in two parts, with different personnel, programs, and locations. Part one, Music in the Museum Halls, consists of three string-quartet scores sharing a common mood—a rarely heard youthful Puccini and one movement each from Debussy’s and Fauré’s Quartets. Part two has five piano pieces by four Romantic composers — Chopin, Fauré, Rachmaninov, and Tchaikovsky — all built on the lulling rhythm of the barcarolle.
