Louis Lortie

The highly-esteemed French Canadian pianist Louis Lortie has extended his interpretative voice across a broad range of repertoire rather than choosing to specialize in one particular style. The London Times has identified the artist’s “combination of total spontaneity and meditated ripeness that only great pianists have”.

Christiane Karg

Christiane Karg

The world famous bavarian soprano Christiane Karg “possesses an instrument that, like the voices of all great art song specialists, resonates from her soul” (San Francisco Classical Voice). She has twice been awarded the prestigious Echo Klassik prize, in 2010 for her debut Lied CD, and in 2016 for her disc of concert arias “Scene!” with Jonathan Cohen and Arcangelo.

Augustin Dumay

The French violinist Augustin Dumay is one of the last representatives of the great Franco-Belgian school of violin previously embodied by Ysaÿe and Grumiaux. International critics describe him as a “great classical stylist”,
a reputation underscored by his outstanding recordings for Deutsche Grammophone.

Paolo Bressan

Paolo Bressan

The Italian conductor studied at the Conservatory “Giuseppe Verdi” in Milan and at the University of Music “Franz Liszt” in Weimar. He began his career as a coach and conductor in Schwerin, Germany followed by international debuts, among others, at the Konzerthaus in Wien, Théatre-des-Champs-Elysées in Paris, Smetana Hall in Prag and at the Dallas Opera.

Michael Guttman

Michael Guttman

Michael Guttman is an eminent violin soloist, conductor and music director of festivals around the world. At age ten, he became the youngest student ever to be admitted into the Brussels Royal Conservatory of Music. Encouraged by his late mentor Isaac Stern, Guttman studied at the Juilliard School in New York with Dorothy Delay, the Juilliard Quartet and Felix Galimir.

Miguel da Silva

Miguel Da Silva

Franco-Swiss musician Miguel da Silva started studying at the Conservatoire of Reims, his native city, before moving to Paris where he was a student at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique with Serge Collot. He was awarded first prize in chamber music and also for viola. In 1985 he won the first Prize of the International chamber music competition in Paris.

Jing Zhao

Jing Zhao started her international career after winning the 1st Prize at the prestigious ARD international competition in Munich in 2005. Seiji Ozawa chose her as soloist, together with the violinist Vadim Repin, the pianist Lang Lang and the Singer Kathleen Battle, for the opening new-year concert of the China National Center for the Performing Arts.

Giuliano Carmignola

Giuliano Carmignola

Giuliano Carmignola is considered one of the most outstanding violinist of our time. He studied with his father, then with Luigi Ferro at the Venice Conservatory and afterwards with Nathan Milstein and Franco Gulli at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena, Italy and Henryk Szeryng at the Geneva Conservatory. In 1973, he was awarded a prize in the International Paganini Competition in Genoa.

The Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel of Belgium

Inaugurated on 12 July 1939, the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel provides high-level training to exceptional young talents. A training center of excellence with an international scope and reputation, its curriculum is reserved for outstanding musicians, the musical elite of tomorrow. At the time of its creation already, the renowned critic Emile Vuillermoz described the Music Chapel as a sort of “modern Villa Medici”.
