The Abbey of San Benedetto in Val Perlana is a corner of the spirit, surrounded by wild nature and silence, isolated from the noise, confusion and traffic of the lakeside. It includes a Romanesque-style church, a bell tower and some structures belonging to what was the monastery, and is nestled on the southern slope of Mount Galbiga.
Probably built between 1050 and 1075, at about 800 meters above sea level and near a spring that still exists today, the Abbey stands out for the simplicity of its architectural lines, the light that filters through the few, small, windows, the rustic discretion of the furnishings that give a sense of religious peace in which it is nice to immerse yourself, even if only for a little while.
