This classical music program is so classic, it could hardly be more classic—three of Bach’s six Suites for solo cello. Yet, there is something original about this concert—its location. The Abbey of San Benedetto in Val Perlana is located at an altitude of 800 meters and can only be reached on foot, via a scenic walk through the woods (walking time: approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes).
Recommended itinerary:
The walk begins at the Abbey of Acquafredda, located in Lenno (Via Acquafredda 16, 22016 Lenno – CO).
A small parking area is available in front of the Abbey.
Continue along Via San Benedetto, to the left of the Abbey. This cobbled path leads uphill through the forest for about one hour. The final 15 minutes of the route follow a gently sloping woodland trail.
We strongly recommend wearing suitable footwear for mountain walking, ideally hiking boots. The total elevation gain is approximately 400 meters.
The organizers decline any responsibility related to the walking route to the concert venue.
In case of bad weather the concert will take place at the Church of Sant’Eufemia, located in the Ossuccio area.
