The Sanctuary dedicated to the Blessed Virgin of Help is located in the municipality of Tremezzina in the Ossuccio hamlet, overlooking the Comacina island.

Built at the mouth of the Perlana Valley, on the slopes of Mount Ossuccio, it embraces an area with a strong religious value, thanks to its proximity to the Abbey of San Benedetto and the Abbey of Acquafredda, built by Cistercian monks in the 12th century in the territory of Lenno, on the other side of the valley.

The Sanctuary has ancient origins, as also evidenced by the presence of a stone statue of the Madonna dating back to 1300, now preserved in a side chapel of the church. Tradition has it that it was found in the 16th century, hidden in a wooded ravine, by a deaf-mute shepherdess, who, following the discovery, regained her hearing and speech.
