Located in Pianello del Lario (CO), in a splendid 19th-century spinning mill, the Museum of Barca Lariana protects a heritage that is unique in the world.
In the museum rooms and warehouses, hundreds of historic boats are preserved, including rowing boats, gondolas, fishing, hunting and smuggling boats, pleasure and racing motorboats, sailing boats and ancient work boats.
From the ancient Romans to the contemporary era, boats tell of ordinary and extraordinary lives not only of the territory, but of Italy as a whole: an enchanting journey that aims to be a stimulus for future generations, the result of daily research on the territory.
The Museum is also open to schools and children with dedicated historical narrations and fun educational workshops.
