The series begins on Sunday, December 1 at 4:00 PM with a concert by the Prisma Flute Quartet at the Church of San Sebastiano in Oria Valsolda, adjacent to Villa Fogazzaro Roi—the magnificent residence overlooking the Como shores of Lake Lugano, where writer Antonio Fogazzaro lived and set his renowned novel “Piccolo Mondo Antico”. In this place of great inspiration and tranquility, the concert is an invitation to celebrate the arrival of Christmas in a charming winter lakeside setting.
Welcoming the audience will be the LacMus Festival Christmas Mug, a cheerful and much-appreciated gift, accompanied by hot tea offered by the Pro Loco of Valsolda in the small square in front of the church, gently lit by the evening sunset. After the concert, guests will be treated to excellent mulled wine, making for a deeply fulfilling and novel experience. (In case of rain, the event will be held in the Villa’s grotto.)
The magic of the location will echo through the music performed by the ensemble composed of Damiano Bodi, Alice Paglia, Vittorio Nissotti, and Camilla Gasparetto—a group formed within the Chamber Music course of the Cantelli Conservatory in Novara, under the guidance of Giuseppe Gregori. The repertoire will include works by A. Reicha, F. Devienne, W. A. Mozart, and traditional Christmas pieces.
