The Quartetto Lirico Italiano was established with the aim of transposing the authentic magic of opera into chamber music.
An original musical message, capable of expressing the passions, dramas, and possible and impossible loves inherent in the art of melodrama, with scores transcribed and elaborated for the exclusive use of an agile and innovative chamber ensemble such as the string quartet.
The project takes various forms: from the most famous opera arias, to instrumental opera paraphrases, to selections of entire operas from the most sought-after repertoire.
Little gems of art, respectful of the text and the original idea of the author, which is thus caressed by refined and soft sonorities.
The string quartet is often joined by the piano, thanks to which the main harmonic characteristics of the original pieces are even better emphasised.
Over the course of their career, the members of the Quartetto Lirico Italiano have collaborated with some of the greatest artists on the international opera scene, such as Anna Netrebko, Yusif Eyvazov, Andrea Bocelli, Anna Pirozzi, Francesco Meli, Giovanna Casolla, Ambrogio Maestri, and Hui He.
As a group, they have performed for important institutions and music festivals such as Festival Castell Perelada, Ravello Festival, LACMus Festival, Veronalirica.
