Described as an “extraordinary talent” (BBC Music Magazine) and an “artist of incredible technique, sound and expression” (The Classic Review), Elisa Netzer is a harpist constantly conquering the stage.
In recent seasons, she was the first harpist to make her solo debut at the Lucerne Festival and represented Switzerland at the World Harp Congress in Hong Kong. She has given recitals throughout Europe, Russia, Brazil and China, and has performed as a soloist with ensembles such as the Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana, Benacus Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra città di Vigevano, Orchestra da Camera di Parma and Arturo Toscanini Symphony Orchestra.
Since 2016, she has been a frequent guest with the Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana and the Tonhalle Orchester Zürich, and has participated in productions with the Luxembourg Philharmonie, Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, Føroya Symfoniorkestur, Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana, and others.
A pupil of Judith Liber, Skaila Kanga, Fabrice Pierre and Emanuela Degli Esposti, she obtained a Bachelor’s degree with distinction at the Conservatory of Parma, a Master’s degree with distinction at the Royal Academy of Music in London, a Master’s degree at the Conservatory of Milan, and a Master’s degree in music pedagogy at the Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana. She is also the winner of numerous competitions, including the Guy McGrath Harp Prize (UK), the Schweizerische Jugend Musik Wettbewerb (Switzerland), the Suoni d’arpa competition, the Best of Italian Conservatories competition, and the Concorso Salieri.
Her first recording, Toccata, was released by Naxos International in 2018 and received critical acclaim.
Committed to finding innovative ways to bring classical music to wider audiences, through concert presentations, articles and radio/TV appearances, she has been co-host of the programme “Paganini” on RSI (Swiss Italian Television)since 2016.
Since 2022, she has been collaborating with the Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana, where she is co-head of Performance studies.
