Biography

Alessandro Bennardo was born in Cosenza in 2001. He approached music by beginning to play the piano and later took up the study of flute. In 2022 he obtained his first flute diploma at the Stanislao Giacomantonio Conservatory of Music in Cosenza under the guidance of Serena Zanette.
Parallel to his academic studies, he specialized with Michele Marasco and Andrea Manco. He has won several national and international competitions, including first prize at the Gabriele Betti Scholarships in Modena and second prize at the Severino Gazzelloni International Competition in Naples. He received a special mention for his excellent playing at the Tampere Flute Festival in Tampere, Finland. He attended the “Obiettivo Orchestra” academy in Saluzzo, Italy, where he studied and deepened the orchestra solo repertoire under the direction of the first parts of the Teatro Regio in Turin; he then won the audition to work with the Philharmonic Orchestra of the same theater.
He participated in several master classes with eminent flutists, including Sir James Galway, who gave him positive feedback and invited him to participate in his online summer course in Lucerne under his direction. He was interviewed by Falaut, Italy’s leading flute magazine. He is currently enrolled in the Master of Arts in Music Performance at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana under the guidance of Andrea Oliva and Lello Narcisi.
