Introduction

As every year, our Musical Greenway is a journey through both captivating locations and a diverse musical landscape. It begins and ends in the Church of Sant’Eufemia, where we are welcomed by the rich yet delicate sounds of the late-Romantic organ, paired with a soprano voice in transcriptions from Liszt, Wolf, Reger, Fauré, and Nadia Boulanger.

We then move to the square, where a lively woodwind quintet delights us with equally lively transcriptions from Stravinsky and Offenbach, followed by the transparent and mysterious Rhapsodie for clarinet by Debussy. From this point, the journey takes the path back: on the monastery steps, the woodwind quintet reappears, once again immersing us in the brilliant atmosphere of transcriptions from Ravel and Gustav Holst. Finally, we return to Sant’Eufemia, where the program for soprano and organ reaches its completion.
