Introduction

The guest books preserved in the historical archives of Villa Carlotta serve as the starting point for a journey through the musical history of the Lake Como area. The itinerary offers a walk through the musical enchantment of Tremezzina, leading to the former salon of Villa Giuseppina (now Villa Margherita) in Griante. The experience features musical passages and narrations inspired by the breathtaking beauty of the landscape—a blend of historical “knowledge” to be experienced through the emotions of the present.

Program

10:15 AM: Meeting point at Villa Carlotta. Distribution of headphones (to be returned at the end) and identification wristbands, which allow for potential entry to the Villa for the remainder of the day.

10:30 AM – 11:00 AM: Viewing and explanation of selected guest books in a dedicated room (limited seating available).

11:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Musical walk with literary and musical listening sessions. The route includes a stop in front of the former villa of Carlo Alfredo Piatti and continues to Villa Margherita Ricordi, including brief mentions of the famous tombs in the Griante cemetery.

12:00 PM – 12:30 PM: Return to Villa Carlotta. Participants may choose to enjoy an optional aperitif or light lunch at the Villa Carlotta Bistrot located within the park.
